Rock buns

So in my last post I pretty much stated how great I think my Dad is ,well he would be nothing if it were not for the woman in his life my Mammy.So not to leave you out Mam today I made some of your tasty rock buns.It would take me a book to write about how great she is,I will leave that for another blog.The scones/rock buns were delicious eaten with butter by Noah and with jam by me,Marc and Noah.

Out of 7 kids (I was the eldest ) I loved all of my Mams cooking her beef stews,shepherds pie ,bread and butter pudding,rice pudding and she makes the best cup of Irish tea I know,love you Mam xx

My little David Attenborough

I have a great Dad ,he has had a very positive influence on me and I am happy to say my little boys are picking up all the positive things I learned as a kid.My Dad took us on lots of walks, as kids we were often piled into the car at the weekends and driven off to some part of the Irish countryside.My Dad has enormous respect for nature and all things living.He cannot walk past a piece of trash without picking it up.I can remember having to sit through nature programs, David Attenboroughs being a big favourite in our house.So in a lot of ways I have grown up to enjoy the same things he does.
Well my eldest son Luca who is 7 ,is a lot like my Dad,he is fascinated about all things living.He has no fear when it comes to bugs and from an early age has loved to study and catch creatures .He loves nothing better then to inform his Mom on the differences between crickets and grasshoppers.While I like to admire things from afar, thanks to Luca we can get up close and personal! While I forbid him from taking anything to my bedroom ,I am really really happy he is growing up to respect our planet and all the living things we share it with.He gets that we are all connected in some way and I have my Dad to thank for that .Its the best gift of all

Target

So if you do not live in America you might not have heard of the store Target.It is one of my favourite places and it can be dangerous in terms of sticking to a budget.What I love most about Target is their designer collaborations .This is where they team up with famous designers and bring out a collection.Being a fashion nerd I always go check em out the first day ( first hour Ok ok first second they are on the floor )The latest collaboration is a collection of 34 dresses from the last 5 years of Targets working with top designers like Zac Posen ,Alice Temperley ,Rogan etc You can browse them here. Not that I will look as hot and cute as these 2 models but cannot wait to wear them my way .Hmmm how does a 37 year old Mama wear these 2 dresses ??I will find a way :)

Spring Time

I have to say a big THANK YOU to my lovely hubby Marc for planting some tulips for me,they came up so beautiful,one of my neighbours said we could be from Holland with our lovely tulips

This time of year in Austin is so pretty  as all the spring flowers start to bloom .The bluebonnets are everywhere

I did it!

Race complete 1hr 2 minutes ,the atmosphere is just great in this race,it is so much fun.Notice my lucky green shamrock

I will be here next year for sure

Go Girl

Tomorrow I am running the Capitol 10k  I did it before about 2 years ago .It is alot of fun ,there is music along the way ( Rocky running up the steps music ) I am not a huge runner and have no desire to run Marathons full or half as I like to look after my Knobbly knees but I do enjoy jogging once or twice a week.So wish me luck ,really hope I will run the whole way like last time .

Here is a video I found that I like ,its very girly,if I had daughters I would show it to them and I am sure they would love it.Being a girly girl I admit I love it too.I can imagine my very cool kid sisters Katie & Hannah laughing at me and my music taste.So tomorrow I am gonna run the whole wide world (well a little part of Austin) with a smile on my face
